My poor poor blog

I have come to the realization that being a blogger is not my intended vocation.

I've neglected to even think about the poor thing for several weeks now, but I'm back.

It's time for some good news, I'm going to be living in Columbus this summer! I can't wait to go back to the place that spent 4 years forming who I am today...I have very very strong connections to Cbus, some good, some bad, all perfect in their own way. Anyway, I'll be doing CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) at the Ohio State University Medical Center. I have housing lined up with one of my friends who goes to Trinity who will be in Austin, TX doing CPE this summer, and needed someone to sublet his apartment. Luckily for me I can turn in my keys to our housing coordinator and not pay rent during that time so I don't have to worry about finding someone to live in my place. I had applied to one other site in Columbus-Mt. Carmel (there were four, OSUMC, Mount Carmel, Grant/Riverside which I couldn't do b/c it is a level 1 trauma center, and Nationwide Childrens Hospital, I wanted something more diverse than just pediatrics) and they were all full by the time they got my application. I also applied to several in Chicago but didn't get interviews at any of them either. So, I only interviewed at OSUMC, and got in. God is certainly good!

I'm really really excited about my classes this semester, Church History 2 (with the same prof as last time, but now in person...so much better), Sexual Ethics for the Christian (at the Catholic seminary...it's.....um.....interesting. Certainly no 'Human Sexuality: Gift and Trust', Jesus and the Gospels (with a great professor, but she's a little crazy at times), and Worship (how to lead worship in an ELCA context...). They're all good in their own right, and I am enjoying what I'm learning.

I'm most excited for MIC next year though. Our middler year we spend 7 hours a week in a congregation through the Ministry in Context program. There are really good looking sites for next year, and I get to spend the next couple months going to them, worshiping with them, and seeing which would be good (and bad) fits for me before I turn in my preference sheet.
