Here I am...a blogger

So, since blogging is en vogue, I figured I would jump in and join it. I plan on using this to talk about my life in seminary, and in Chicago in general. It's so those of you who have so graciously supported me can keep updated about my comings and goings in the big city, about classes, and other important things in my life. It's also for those of you who are curious. This blog is for people who consider themselves believers, those who don't know, those who are looking, and those who have determined that Christianity is not the right path right now. We are all stumblers, all looking, all doubtful, all searching, all seeking. That's why I titled the blog as I did. Sanctify is a verb meaning to set apart to a sacred purpose. Seminary certainly is doing that for me, but I pray that each one of you recognizes your calling from somewhere. Set apart doesn't mean that I don't have the same fears an doubts, it means that I have just as many as anyone else. Sacred purpose doesn't just mean a call to ordained ministry, it means listening to a call, following that call. Everyone has a sacred purpose. Everyone is sanctified for what they are supposed to do. Isn't that exciting?! You, me, everyone is set apart for their own specific and sacred purpose. Humanity is constantly realizing its sacred purpose, and as Christians we get to explore that in the context of faith *and* the world! Pretty amazing.

So, it's bedtime right now, but I plan on updating this at the very least once a week, probably more, sometimes less. But, I'll give a recap of important things in the past 7 weeks since I started as soon as I get a free minute in the next week!
